After posting Eagan family census records from 1860 to 1930, here are Eagan entries for the same period from the City Directories from Rochester, NY, New Haven, CT and Cincinnati, OH. There are also entries in the Springfield, MA City Directory where my grandfather, Stephen, and his family for a few years in the early 1900s. In all of those cities - Rochester, New Haven, Cincinnati and Springfield - my grandfather worked as a carriage blacksmith, working on both carriages and automobiles.
